It is official: Ohio State has added a new name to its coaching staff, coupled with other transitions under Urban Meyer's discretion.

Meyer and the school announced the hiring of Greg Studrawa as offensive line coach Friday morning. The news was first reported by FootballScoop late Thursday. The move keeps offensive coordinator Ed Warinner in the press box for the immediate future, the release said, as he will take over duties as tight ends coach for Tim Hinton. Hinton is set to move to senior level executive director for football relations/special assistant to Meyer.

The release explicitly states the "goal" was to keep Warinner up top to coach from the booth alongside quarterbacks coach Tim Beck. He coached there and led the Buckeyes to impressive offensive performances in a 42-13 victory in the regular season finale at Michigan and 44-28 Fiesta Bowl win against Notre Dame.

"Our offense was as good as it was all year with coach Warinner and coach Beck together in the box," Meyer said in the release. "So keeping those two in place during games is something I think our offense will benefit from as we move forward."

You can read more about Studrawa's past coaching stops—which include a two-year stint with Meyer at Bowling Green—by clicking here. Studrawa's time with the Falcons was outlined by Meyer in the release.

"I’ve known Greg for a long time, starting with my time at Bowling Green when he was my offensive line coach," the head coach said. "I know how good of a coach he is. There aren’t many people I’d entrust our offensive line to after the job coach Warinner has done, but Greg is one of them and I’m pleased to have him join our staff."

Meyer expressed appreciation and gratitude toward Hinton for willing to shift positions.

"Tim is an excellent coach and an outstanding person who I have a tremendous amount of respect for," Meyer said. "I am grateful for everything he has done for us, and I see his value to this program even increasing as he becomes more of a resource and mentor for our current and future student-athletes. Plus, he’ll provide a needed strategy and analysis roll with the offensive coaches."

Ohio State kicks off spring practice March 8. The spring game is scheduled for April 16.
