Kirk Herbstreit is in the pony picking business, and for the second year in a row, the ESPN college football analyst tabbed his alma mater to make the sport's final four.
Though no Buckeye Heisman prophecy is included in this year's picks, Herbstreit appeared on ESPN Radio's Russillo & Kanell and spoke on why he favors the Buckeyes in 2016.
“I think Ohio State still comes out of the Big Ten," Herbstreit said, according to saturdaydownsouth.com. "I think J.T. Barrett, despite all their losses, will be able to allow Ohio State to maneuver through their schedule and get there to win a Big Ten Championship.”
Alabama (or rather, Nick Saban), Clemson (or rather, Deshaun Watson) and Texas Christian are the three teams Herbstreit predicts to join Ohio State in the CFP. He did note, however, he only felt "pretty good" about the first three.
Only time will tell if Herbie goes better than last year's predictions, which saw him finish one for four. Oklahoma was the only team to make the field out of Ohio State, LSU, and Oklahoma State.
