The Ohio State University Marching Band opened the season with a tribute to alumni on the 50th reunion of the alumni band. This included a "Giant Script Ohio", which the marching band advertised ahead of time as the largest such formation ever marched.
It also played some tunes from some iconic Russian composers, including Reinhold Glière, Modest Mussorgsky, Dmitri Shostakovich, and Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky.
