After spending much of his Ohio State career on the injury report, cornerback Marshon Lattimore continued his breakout season Sunday when the Walter Camp Football Foundation awarded him as one of two FBS Players of the Week.
About the Award: This is the 13th year that the Walter Camp Football Foundation will honor one offensive and one defensive player as its national Football Bowl Subdivision player of the week during the regular season. Recipients are selected by a panel of national media members and administered by the Foundation.
Lattimore recorded two tackles and two interceptions — one of which he returned 40 yards to paydirt — Saturday against the Tulsa Golden Hurricane. The second-quarter interception occurred right before half and was instrumental in breaking the game open for the Buckeyes.
Louisville QB Lamar Jackson also earned the award after compiling 610 yards and five touchdowns against Syracuse on Friday night.
No. 4 Ohio State heads to Norman to play Oklahoma in Week 3. No. 13 Louisville hosts No. 3 Florida State.
