Noah Brown didn't get a chance to show the nation what he could do in 2015. A training camp injury wiped out his entire season.
This year, he's making up for lost time. Brown hauled in five receptions for 72 yards against Oklahoma Saturday night, tying a school record for touchdown catches in one game, including one spectacular snag that earned Brown the top honors on ESPN's SportsCenter.
We thought we'd revisit his legendary coming out party in the form of GIFs.
Touchdown No. 1
With Ohio State nursing a one-score lead early in the second quarter, quarterback J.T. Barrett found Brown on four-yard hitch for six. Brown was simply no match for freshman cornerback Parrish Cobb.
Touchdown No. 2
Ohio State led 21–10 midway through the second quarter when Barrett and Brown teamed up again to victimize Cobb, this time on a 37-yard strike.
Let's take another look at the catch:
The catch put Ohio State up 28–10, a commanding lead they'd never relinquish.
Touchdown No. 3
With time running out in the first half, Brown turned in the play of the night (year?) when he secured the ball with a one-handed catch, pinning it to cornerback Michiah Quick's back.
We're gonna need to see that a few more times.
Yes, that really happened.
One more angle:
The catch gave Ohio State a 35–17 halftime lead. But Brown wasn't done.
Touchdown No. 4
Just four minutes into the second half, Barrett and Brown hooked up again, this time victimizing Sooner cornerback Jordan Thomas – and we do mean victimizing – on a slick route:
Here's an iso of the route:
Not only did Brown score when Ohio State needed him, but his touchdowns ran the gamut of his craft. He had the jump ball, the spectacular-you-may-not-see-that-again snag, and then a touchdown on a precise route that turned the defender inside out.
