Once a Buckeyes, always a Buckeye. Across the Shield follows those who once wore Scarlet and Gray on their journeys through the NFL.

Zeke Runs Wild (Again)

Another week, another reminder than Ezekiel Elliott is good at football.

Sunday, Elliott put up 157 yards on the ground on 28 carries – another day at the office. This time, though, he did it against the nation's top run defense. The Packers entered the game giving up just 1.9 yards per carry; Elliott averaged 5.6.

Here he stiff-arms a man to the ground, hurdles another guy, then carries roughly three humans past the first-down marker – which is good.

With Sunday's performance, Elliott also became the first rookie in NFL history to rush for over 130 yards in four consecutive games and continues to lead the league in rushing. And to think, Elliott could have been playing against college students again this season.

When you put up numbers like that, you earn the right to go pantsless during interviews.

Elliott and the division-leading Cowboys are off next week (RIP my fantasy team).

Joey Bosa: Not a Bust

So as it turns out, Ezekiel Elliott's former roommate is also good at football.

During the Chargers' Thursday night game against Denver, Joey Bosa wreaked havoc on the Bronco offensive line and made Trevor Siemian's life quite difficult.

Though the stats don't necessarily show it, as he finished with just one tackle, Bosa's second game was arguably more impressive than his first. The former Buckeye was nearly unblockable all game, creating chaos for Siemian and the Denver offense.

Wouldn't it be hilarious if Bosa made the Pro Bowl as a rookie after missing a quarter of the season?

Michael Thomas Makes a House Call

Before the season, Sean Payton urged fantasy owners to draft Michael Thomas, and that appears to have been solid advice.

Sunday, Michael Thomas found the end-zone yet again giving him a touchdown in three consecutive games.

Thomas, however, was not the game's MVP – that honor goes to the Saints employee waving him into the endzone in the background.

Pryor's Road to Canton Continues

Terrelle Pryor's transition to wide receiver has been nothing short of incredible to watch. The former Buckeye ball-thrower is now the top receiving target on an NFL roster (even if it is the Browns) and regularly mosses men who get paid to not get mossed.

Example:

Let's be clear here, Pryor was not open on that play. There was a corner in coverage and he had safety help. But none of that matters when your body looks like it was created in a lab for the sole purpose of playing football well.

Pryor caught another touchdown later in the game, giving him two on the day. He finished with nine catches for 75 yards and two touchdowns along with one rush for three yards and one pass for one yard.

A high-level source told me this week that Pryor once mossed Malcolm Jenkins during practice, and the latter was not at all pleased. The warning signs were always there folks – Pryor's headed to canton.

And he's even got a new nickname:

Play of the Week

Speaking of Malcolm Jenkins...

The Ohio State secondary has :fire-emoji: all season, picking off passes and scoring touchdowns with a frequency Buckeye fans have not seen in a long time. This week, Malcolm Jenkins decided to remind fans that he too is quite adept at catching balls thrown towards other players and scoring himself.

Late in the second quarter of the Eagles' matchup with the Redskins, Jenkins grabbed a Kirk Cousins duck and took it for six points the other way.

This was Jenkins' 7th career pick-six, meaning he's caught the same number of touchdown passes as Devin Funchess, a former Michigan Wolverine who plays offense.

Ohio Against the World

Once again, my fantasy team is going to lose a game despite mostly doing fine. The killer: getting -4 points between the quarterback, tight end and defense/special teams positions combined.

Week Six

The worst part about this is I chose the Steelers' defense because Ryan Shazier and Cameron Heyward started. This week, they were both inactive, but I didn't sub them out for another team (crying jordan me).

Also, the Steelers defense has gotten me negative points twice now, and there have only been six weeks. If they're going to harm my team a third of the time, I'm going to have to find somebody else.

This week was not a win, but we'll try again next week (just kidding, the Cowboys are off).
