Earlier this year, the Big Ten lost a member of its family as Nebraska punter Sam Foltz was tragically killed in a July car accident. The Ohio State football team ensured he was not forgotten when the Huskers visited Columbus Saturday night.
Before the game, the Ohio State specialists met with the Foltz family and some of Sam's teammates to present them with an Ohio State helmet featuring 27 Buckeye leafs representing the number Foltz wore at Nebraska.
"When you lose a member of your family, it affects all of us," said Ohio State longsnapper Liam McCullough. "It hit us hard here at Ohio State and it hit our team hard. We just wanted to let you know that we're keeping your son and your teammate in our thoughts and prayers and we're happy to have you guys here."
Ohio State punter Cameron Johnston presented the helmet to Foltz's father who in turn handed it to Nebraska placekicker Spencer Lindsay to take to team.
"That's cool as shit," said Lindsay as he carried the helmet to the Nebraska sideline.
