Iowa's Saturday night upset bid of then-No. 2 Michigan, though hilarious, could ultimately cost Ohio State a shot at the Big Ten title.
So, despite ancient Midwest blood feuds, it would make sense if some Buckeyes wanted the Wolverines to win for once.
But that wasn't the case among three Ohio State captains. Quarterback J.T. Barrett declared his position Saturday night in the aftermath of the Maryland mashing.
Tough but fair take from the man who will soon replace Drew Brees as the Big Ten's greatest touchdown maker.
Center Pat Elflein and middle linebacker Raekwon McMillan doubled down on Barrett's sentiments Monday, even knowing the price that could be paid in a little over two weeks.
McMillan asked if he was rooting for Michigan on Saturday knowing a loss would hurt Ohio State. "Nah, I don't root for them."

Pat Elflein said he wasn't rooting for Michigan on Saturday, even though he knows the B1G scenarios: "I'll never root for those guys."

So there you have it, folks—the official party stance.
It's never acceptable to root for Michigan, even if it could result in night tremors about James Franklin disrespecting Archie Griffin before hoisting the 2016 Big Ten Championship in Indianapolis.
