At least one person from Ohio State's football program is heading down Interstate 71 with Luke Fickell.
According to Football Scoop, the former Ohio State defensive coordinator and linebackers coach is bringing quality control staffer Joker Phillips with him to Cincinnati. Phillips is set to coach wide receivers for the Bearcats, per the report. He last coached wide receivers in 2015 for the Cleveland Browns.
Phillips was on Meyer's staff for just the 2016 season.
He served as Kentucky head coach from 2010-12 and worked as an assistant at Cincinnati from 1997-98.
Phillips coached receivers numerous times earlier in his career, doing so at Kentucky, Cincinnati, Minnesota, Notre Dame, South Carolina, Florida and also with the Browns.
