It looks like A.J. Hawk has played his last snap in the National Football League. The former Ohio State great told NFL Network's Albert Breer he plans to file retirement papers with the league.

Obviously this means Hawk would be open to a last chance to compete, but it doesn't look likely for the 10-year veteran.
Hawk last played for the Cincinnati Bengals in 2015, playing in all 16 games and compiling 24 tackles and a sack. The Bengals released Hawk in April.
The Green Bay Packers originally drafted Hawk with the No. 5 pick of the 2006 NFL Draft after two unanimous All-American years at Ohio State.
If this is the end, the Super Bowl XLV champion finishes with 947 combined tackles, 20 sacks, 3 forced fumbles, and 9 touchdowns.
Hawk plans to pursue a career in media, including The HawkCast.
