Legendary sports announcer Brent Musburger, who wasn't shy about peppering his commentary with gambling innuendo, announced he will call the last contest of his career on Monday night, a SEC basketball tilt in Lexington between Georgia and Kentucky.
It's the spot he called the Villanova's upset over Georgetown in the 1985 NCAA finals.
Before his stint with the SEC Network, Musburger regularly announced Ohio State games on ABC. In fact, he called one of the most iconic plays in Buckeye lore in 2002, when Craig Krenzel, his team trailing 6-3 at Purdue, linked up with Michael Jenkins on 4th and 1 for a 37-yard touchdown with 1:36 left in the game.
It was the game's only touchdown. Musburger christened the the play with his iconic "Holy Buckeye!" declaration during the touchdown fracas in front of a mixture of 65,000 stunned and jubilant fans.
Ohio State threw it back to West Lafayette to wish Musburger well in retirement.
