The biggest quirk about National Signing Day is the prominence of the fax machine.
Despite it being 2017 and not 1993, the ancient technology persists as the basic means for a prospect to send his National Letter of Intent to the school of his choosing.
Four-star cornerback Amir Riep, however, didn't want to leave the most important letter of his life at the behest of a machine he had never operated. So, he did the only sensible thing: He drove an hour and forty-five minutes to Columbus to personally deliver his declaration to his new Ohio State position coach, Kerry Coombs.

Letter in hand, Ohio State announced the signing of Riep moments later.
