Ohio State pushed for (and achieved) 100,000+ fans to attend its 2016 spring game. Those calls have been noticeably silent this year despite a forecast that calls for 78-degree temperatures and scattered thunderstorms.

We now know why. East C-Deck will be unavailable as Ohio State continues to renovate its historic stadium. Capacity is set at 84,000.

Parts of C deck will not be in use as work continues on a multi-year restoration project to preserve the 1922-circa coating and concrete on that level after previous work was done on A and B decks. About 20,000 seats will not be in use during the spring game because of this work.

At least Ohio Stadium will pearl as usual when the Oklahoma Sooners roll into Columbus for Ohio State's 2017 home opener on Sept. 9.
