Student Appreciation Day began with Urban Meyer's arrival at Ohio State. Once a year, in the spring, Meyer would open the doors to the Woody Hayes Athletic Center to all current students to give them an up-close, behind the scenes look at the team.
Students were welcome to watch the full practice, participate in stretches and drills, and get autographs and photographs with the team.
Ohio State did not hold a Student Appreciation Day practice last year for scheduling reasons, after having it for each of the previous six years, but it seems the tradition will be making a comeback under Ryan Day.
