Northwestern never had an answer.
Trey Sermon got rolling in Saturday's Big Ten championship game and in the final moments broke the single-game Ohio State rushing mark set by Eddie George 25 years ago.
Sermon, in the performance of a lifetime, recorded 331 rushing yards on 29 carries for an average of 11.4 yards per rush. He scored both of Ohio State's touchdowns in the 22-10 win to give his team a Big Ten title.

To put Sermon's out-of-nowhere performance into perspective, he had accumulated 344 rushing yards across the prior five games.
Previously, George's record was 314 rushing yards against Illinois in 1995.
