Former Ohio State running back Chip Trayanum has a new home.

Trayanum committed to Kentucky on Tuesday, becoming the first Ohio State player who has entered the transfer portal this month to find a new home.

The Ohio native took an official visit to Kentucky over the weekend, then made his commitment official Tuesday. He'll join a Wildcats backfield that will present plenty of opportunities for carries, as leading rusher Ray Davis has declared for the NFL Draft.

Trayanum originally transferred from Arizona State to Ohio State before the 2022 season to play linebacker but eventually switched back to running back later in the year. He was Ohio State’s second-leading rusher during this year’s regular season, totaling 373 yards on 85 carries with three rushing touchdowns while catching nine passes for 53 yards.

His most notable moment came in the final seconds of Ohio State’s road game at Notre Dame in September when he scored the game-winning touchdown on a one-yard run with just one second left on the clock.

Trayanum is one of 14 Buckeyes who have entered the portal since the end of the regular season along with quarterback Kyle McCord, running back Evan Pryor, wide receiver Julian Fleming, tight end Joe Royer, centers Victor Cutler Jr. and Jakob James, defensive end Omari Abor, linebacker Reid Carrico, cornerbacks Jyaire Brown and Ryan Turner, safeties Cameron Martinez and Kye Stokes and kicker Parker Lewis.
