Well, this doesn't happen too often:
Downingtown East star wide out Jay Harris said he decided to forego attending Michigan State on a football scholarship in order to chase his dream of being a rapper.
Harris said he told Spartans quarterbacks coach Brad Salem of the news last week. He will release a mixtape on June 1 and has a single here on YouTube. Harris conceded that his commitment during his senior year was half-heated and the only career he saw was music.
Harris originally chose the Spartans over offers from Old Dominion and Temple. Seantrel Henderson's father was unavailable for comment.

UH-HUH-UH-HUH-UH-UPDATE:
It appears that Michigan State may have had a hand in Harris quitting football. He has also been dropped from Pennsylvania's Big 33 roster.
