Didn't see a post yet, but the best sports tournament of the year is starting off tonight. Buckeyes have 9 wresters this year, Mendez is a #1 seed at 141 and the other young Bucks are looking to start off their careers on the podium while D'Emilio looks to have a second AA finish to close out his career.
125: McCrone is a 29 seed. First round matchup vs Ramos, very similar boom and bust styles. Would love to see a big Mccrone headlock or roll through. If he somehow pulls that off the top of the bracket isn't a meat grinder until Davis. McCrone could go 0-2 or he could realistically battle for an AA spot.
133 - bouzakis is a 16 seed. If he wrestles to level legitimately could go for 3/4, but has to win his first match.
141 - Mendez should be wrestling for a championship
149 - D'Emilio should AA
157 - Hoping for Wilcox to have a 2023 D'Emilio run to AA. Realistically probably 1 win max
165- :(
174 - let's go Rocco, shock the world - I could see a top 5 finish for sure, but he got a great draw avoiding Starocci, Lewis, and Griffith until a potential championship and Ruth until the Quarters. Legitimately think the bottom half championship bracket will be an easier ride to AA then consolation with the way seedings fell.
184 - Ryder - your guess is as good as mine, but it will be fun to watch lol
197 - Luke - another shock the world type. Tough draw but familiar opponents early - would it really be an upset if he beat Allred and potentially Glazier? Nope. Hoping for an early upset and an AA finish.
285 - feldman go a rough draw with Kerklivet in the quarters, but high hopes he can battle for a 3rd. Definitely looking for an AA finish
