This is an outstanding podcast on the history of the Ohio State Michigan rivalry. Goes into the Toledo War, Snow Bowl, Woody and Bo, etc. It's also a really nice and detailed preview of Saturday's game.
Some of the key points I found interesting...
- Mediocre Michigan teams have a long history of playing well against really good Ohio State teams. He points out that the last three times we were a double digit favorite (2017, 2014, 2013) things were pretty dicey until late in the 4th quarter.
- Michigan has a great run defense and their defensive tackles in particular are first round NFL talents that may be able to give the interior of our offensive line some issues and limit our run game. (Personally, I think we should go tempo early in the game to get these guys gassed)
- Ohio State is way better on paper but mentality is everything in this game. Ohio State seems to have exactly the right mentality this season. They seem confident, hungry, and ready to let it rip on Saturday. There's a great comparison of what McCord said before last year's game with what Will Howard said on Saturday.
I think it's 100% worth listening to. Got me even more excited for the game. Go Bucks!
