The former TTUN head coach has been hired by the Carolina Panthers, according to Sporting News’ Alex Marvez. Hoke will serve as the team’s defensive line coach.
Hoke, 59, has never coached in the NFL before. This will be his first professional coaching opportunity.
The Ball State alum spent the 2017 season at Tennessee. He became the program’s interim head coach when Butch Jones was fired. Prior to that, he spent a season at Oregon as the Ducks’ defensive coordinator.
Hoke previously led TTUN's program from 2011-14. He went 31-20 in four seasons, getting fired after a 5-7 season in ’14.
