Baseball season is over, and there already is a Cleveland Guardians baseball thread, but I wanted to recognize Guardians' President Chris Antonetti who was named the 2022 Executive of the Year for MLB. The Guardians had the 27th lowest payroll in MLB, yet won the AL Central Division and advanced to the ALDS. 4 players on the team, Miles Straw, Steven Kwan, Andres Gimenez, and Shane Beiber were all awarded Gold Gloves for their defensive prowess.

It was a great season for the Guardians in more ways than one, and the future looks very good for the youngest team in baseball. Antonetti was formerly the GM, and was promoted to President of Baseball Operations with Michael Chernoff taking over as GM. Antonetti and Chernoff are as good a FO as there is in baseball, and this award and the results on the field show it. 

Not only do the Guardians draft well, they do a great job of developing talent. Just 2 examples this year are Steven Kwan and Oscar Gonzales, both of whom were not thought of as regular starters but soon stabilized an outfield that had serious questions heading into the 2022 season.
