Since the end of the Premier League I have been in a sports desert. The US Open and the Open Championship (now) have been a couple of nice breaks. The football and soccer seasons can't start soon enough.
College Football: Ohio State of course. That is why we are here, unless you like to troll. They are an easy team to cheer for since they are always relevant. I have been in Austin for 14 years and I do support the Horns over any other Texas team. The Aggies are almost on UM level.
College Basketball: Kansas. My formative year were split between Ohio and Kansas. I used to be a big IU fan too when Coach Knight was there. I always liked OSU until an on campus interaction with one player changed things.
NFL: Chiefs, one of the most hated teams nationally now. When I lived in KC, they were not good. Great organization with really good players and one incredible QB. Used to love the Browns till they moved. Bengals are ok.
Premier League: Liverpool, dream of attending a game at Anfield.
The rest:
Not an NBA fan. They are fantastic athletes, I just do not like the game they play. Did watch some of the playoffs. Hockey is not for me, but I did score a Team USA Eruzione jersey recently that is very cool. Can't believe a team based in Canada has not won the Cup since I was at Ohio State. Team USA soccer is very hard to support. MLS is just inferior product compared to the top European leagues. I used to be an Indians fan, but the strike (yeah I am old) dampened that tremendously. Watched a couple of games last summer on a Fishing trip back to Erie. This year they were in SF, so we were in bed by the time they came on. I used to watch/listen to every game prior to 1994. I did watch playoff runs in 1995, 1997, and 2016.
