Ohio State blows out Indiana, 38-15. Now, it's time to do the same to That Team Up North.
Ohio State senior punter Cameron Johnston is the newest Ray Guy Award Punter of the Week for a sterling five-punt performance against Oklahoma on Saturday night.
Every punt landed behind Oklahoma's 20-yard line.
The Punter from Down Under averaged 50.6 yards per punt and allowed zero return yards on the night. His 68-yard boom on Ohio State's first possession, which pinned Oklahoma at the 11-yard line, proved crucial in switching the field and opening up the Buckeye scoring gates.
On the year, Johnston is No. 2 nationally while averaging 50.2 yards per punt.
The award committee also cited Johnston's off-the-field work:
Not only is he a standout on the field, he is a standout with his community service. He has done volunteer work at the Mid-Ohio Food bank and has made many visits at the OSU Medical Center/James Cancer Research Center, Nationwide Children's Hospital and the VA Hospital.
Johnston, a Ray Guy Award semifinalist in 2015, will next be in action on Oct. 1st when former Ohio State defensive coordinator Chris Ash and Rutgers come to town.
