The Eleven Warriors Web Report comes to you weekly from the Spectrum Sports studios in downtown Columbus, featuring our own Beau Bishop, Dan Hope and former Buckeye wide receiver Evan Spencer.
This week, the guys looked back on the Buckeyes' fourth straight blowout win against Maryland while discussing their expectations for Saturday's road trip to Nebraska.
Spencer, who played for Ohio State from 2011 to 2014, made his debut on this week's show and said he has seen real improvement in Kevin Wilson's play calling over the course of his first six games as offensive coordinator.
"No different than any players, it takes a couple games to get into it," Spencer said. "Especially coming in to a big-time university. So I think that's the big thing is that he's got some games under his belt, he knows how to call our offense."
Bishop agreed with Spencer, adding that he is starting to see the same J.T. Barrett that helped Spencer and the 2014 Buckeyes to a national championship run.
"I see a J.T. Barrett the last couple weeks that is just playing," Bishop said. "He was thinking it the early part of this season – the Oklahoma game, even the opener. He's not doing that anymore. He's just letting it fly.
"Will he ever be somebody who throws it 40 yards down the field deep? No, that's not who he is. He doesn't need to be that either."
The guys also talked about the improvement of the Buckeyes' defense, the emergence of wide receiver Binjimen Victor and more.
The Eleven Warriors Report airs Tuesday at 7 p.m. on Spectrum Sports Mid-Ohio.
