The philosophy of paying it forward is recognized around the world, but in Ohio, it may as well be the state motto.
Wednesday night, about 25 football players were on hand at the Manna Cafe to dish out food, talk football and bring a few smiles to faces that could use them. Every Wednesday, the cafe, located inside the Broad Street Methodist Church, welcomes 150-200 off the street for a respite and a delicious meal.
Those in attendance included tight ends Jeff Heuerman and Nick Vannett, running back Warren Ball, quarterback Cardale Jones, defensive backs Jamie Wood, Tyvis Powell and Najee Murray, and kicker/punter Drew Basil. Wood was humbled by the experience:
Humbling experience to say the least feeding the homeless #takenothingforgranted

Members of the football team will be out Saturday, again paying it forward, as they help kick off the Columbus City Schools Special Olympics.
