Former Ohio State offensive lineman Mike Adams was stabbed in an apparent robbery attempt in Pittsburgh, the Steelers reported. The tackle is resting in an area hospital. The team said he will make a full recovery.
No other details of the incident have been released.
"We are aware of the situation regarding Mike Adams being stabbed earlier this morning," Steelers general manager Kevin Colbert said. "We are in direct communication with both Mike and his family. Mike is expected to make a full recovery."
Adams was a second-round pick of the Steelers in the 2012 draft. He played in 10 games last season, including six starts. He was the recipient of the Joe Greene Performance Award, given to the outstanding Steelers rookie.
