The last time Michigan tried to bang with an SEC team to start a campaign, Alabama (-14) punched the Wolverines' teeth back down their throat in one of the easiest gambling calls of the 21st century. The end result was a 41-14 Tide victory that was the start of Alabama's third BCS title in four years.
Michigan is again in search of a statement win to begin their season, but this time they've dialed down a bit on the SEC food chain. While Al Borges and Whatever-Offensive-Coordinator-Will-Muschamp eventually hires could set offensive football back three decades, there's also a good chance neither Brady Hoke or Will Muschamp will be coaching these teams when they kick-off in Jerry-World on September 2nd, 2017.
