Bruce Pearl, who has been out of the coaching game since being fired by Tennessee in 2011 for lying about the recruitment of Aaron Craft, has accepted the head coaching job at Auburn. From ESPN:
"I'm humbled and blessed to be back in the game that I love," Pearl said in a statement. "I don't know how long it will take, but it's time to rebuild the Auburn basketball program and bring it to a level of excellence so many of the other teams on campus enjoy."
Pearl is 231-99 on the Division I level. Auburn finished 14-16 (6-12 in SEC play) and fired their coach, Tony Barbee, last week.
