The Big Ten's basketball coaches have agreed to add conference games to their schedules starting in 2018-19, according to a report from Jon Rothstein of FanRag Sports.
Currently, Big Ten teams play 18 regular season conference games. According to Rothstein's report, however, the conference slate is expected to get pushed to 20 games as early as next season.
If the change is made, it would be the second alteration to the conference schedule in as many years. The Big Ten moved two conference games to early December in the 2017-18 schedule in order to move the Big Ten Tournament up a week so it could be played at Madison Square Garden in New York City.
The Big Ten last adjusted its number of conference games in 2007-08, when it moved from a 16-game conference schedule to 18 games.
