Ryan Day’s son has already received an offer from a Power 5 school just two days after playing in his first high school game.
RJ Day, a freshman at Columbus’ St. Francis DeSales High School, announced Sunday night that he had received his first Division I offer from Boston College after a conversation with BC head coach Jeff Hafley, who previously worked with Day as Ohio State’s co-defensive coordinator in 2019.

Day’s high school career got off to a successful start on Friday night when he led DeSales to a comeback victory over Tri-Valley in his first high school game. With just 25 seconds remaining in the game, Day completed a 31-yard deep-ball touchdown pass to Jack Elgin to give the Stallions a 21-17 lead that would hold for the game’s final score.

Although Day is just starting his high school football career this year, he’s already been a fixture at Ohio State’s high school football camps for multiple years, putting his throwing skills on display in quarterback throwing sessions and in Ohio State’s 7-on-7 tournament this summer.

Now that he has a high school game under his belt, Day is already grabbing the attention of college coaches as he looks to establish himself as a quarterback recruit in the 2027 class.
