TCU Going Up Tempo

For a couple of years there, I was a big advocate of Gary Patterson being the chief nominee for any number of big time college job openings. That was before the Horned Frogs began to struggle with a new Big 12 schedule that has seen them compile a less than stellar overall record of 11-14 in the last two seasons, including a 6-12 record in conference.

So, to help re-energize a team that went 4-8 last year with the 110th ranked rushing attack, Patterson and company will go to a hurry-up offense that incorporates trickeration and ignoring said run attack because seriously, screw it.

With the new fast-paced offensive philosophy that might feature at least 40 passes a game, TCU needs good depth and talent at wide receiver. In the spring, the coaching staff moved Jordan Moore to wide receiver. It was the fourth position he has played with the Horned Frogs. Moore is 6-3, weighs 220 pounds and runs a 4.4.

Wow! Kind of!  We'll see if this bold move to make TCU's offense look like every other Big 12 offense from 2004 pays off in actual wins next year, and maybe Patterson can parlay that into a head coaching gig that isn't in the most overlooked city in Texas.
