There are facts and opinions when it comes to Big Ten football, and one of the most unassailable facts is Brutus Buckeyes' dominance over any other mascots.
In fact, the only mascot on a higher level of swagger than the current rendition of Brutus is 1979 Brutus. This much is known.
Yet, in The Chicago Tribune's poll, Brutus Buckeye (42%) trails Herkey the Hawk (44%).
The last time this happened, the rest of the Big Ten ganged up to make sure "Jump Around" defeated the incomparable Script Ohio in a "college football traditions" tournament.
But on this day? Brutus does not lose on this day.
