Michigan's starting quarterback, Devin Gardner, and by extension, Michigan itself, has been terrible on the road under Brady Hoke.
Gardner's 2013 road record: completed 51.7% of his passes for six touchdowns and five interceptions. Michigan went 2-3.
While Michigan finally reached .500 against Appalachian State last Saturday, the Wolverines will now head to South Bend for their final regular-season clash against Notre Dame for the foreseeable future.
From Brendan F. Quinn of MLive.com:
“I don’t know how to answer that,” Gardner said, when asked Monday why anyone should believe he and the Wolverines will be improved on the road this season. “I just know we prepare hard and the intensity we have in practice -- it’s like we’re playing a road game, or (road) practice, every day.
“They put a lot of stress on us and it’s really hard to communicate when there’s loud music and things like that. That’s big thing when you go on the road, communication. That’s usually the things that stops teams from being as successful as they want to be.
Well, whatever it is they've been doing to prepare Michigan for the road, I'm not going to quibble with their mediocre results.
