Many thought Michigan basketball would be good this year. In fact, however, Michigan basketball is bad. So, Wolverines are being forced to get high on the optimism centering around a man who was shoved out the door of his last job like a drunk who refused to go home.
Is Jim Harbaugh crazy? I don't know the answer to that question, but this tweet may provide a clue:
Attacking this day with Enthusiasm Unknown to Mankind
— Coach Harbaugh (@CoachJim4UM) January 15, 2015
The quote, of course, is being cribbed without attribution from Jim's father, Jack.
My bigger question would be, what the hell does this even mean? (My second question centers on the random capitalization of the tweet.)
Unless Jack Harbaugh (and by extension, his seed, Jim) are omnipotent and eternal, i fail to see how either of these two men would know anything about the enthusiasm known to "mankind."
To me, this is about worth the same a grainy Instagram post with some shitty text pasted over a stock image of the Caribbean. It sounds good until you rub two brain cells together to ponder on the matter.
Will I shed tears if Michigan handed the keys of its program to a crazy man with a Messiah complex? Not at all. It'd be poetic justice, in a way.
