What do you guys know about Dubai? I know it's a land of opulence built on the back of slave labor, and that partying there would lead to my execution, but other than that? Not much.
But it looks like Mack Brown and Texas are "exploring opportunities" there? I'm as baffled as you are.

Former Texas coach Mack Brown and lettermen David Thomas and Ricky Brown are all currently in Dubai on a football-related trip meant to explore future possibilities for Texas athletics, a source told the American-Statesman.
Brown has posted various photos on his Twitter account of himself and wife Sally in Dubai. Late Monday, Mack Brown posted a photo that included Thomas and Ricky Brown. Included in the photo was Texas athletic director Steve Patterson’s wife Yasmin, who speaks Arabic.
Steve Patterson, who is not on the trip, has made no secret of his wishes to expand the UT brand
I'm going to wager that the opportunities for which they're searching is money, lots and lots and lots of money.
I thought Texas more moneyed than anyone, but I suppose you can never have enough. We are talking about amateur athletics, after all.
