Alvarez: Wisconsin Spring Attendance Not Good Because There's Too Much to Do in Madison

Before we begin: I just want to say I love Madison with all my heart. It's a Midwestern gem, and is my favorite road trip in the Big Ten (though, to be fair, I've yet to experience East Lansing).

But this? This is laughable.

From Andy Baggot of Madison.com:

“I just think there’s too many things to do in Madison that we have not — through a number of coaches — been able to generate that type of interest."

I'm not going to sit here and drag an entire fanbase as "fake fans" because they don't fill their stadium to watch a scrimmage, but to pretend it's because Madison is some bustling metropolis with OH SO MUCH TO DO isn't the move.

Madison's metro area only holds 600,000ish people, and it's not like every single Wisconsin fan lives in Madison.

Wisconsin's spring game is this Saturday, and the school expects between 10,000-20,000 people there.
