Folks, this one hurts. 

"Bling" – as in "bling bling" – has literally been part of my syntax since 1999, when I heard BG's all-time banger, "Bling Bling" (which you can view above in a deliciously-90s rap video with bad audio sync).

Bling is dead, however. It was killed by one of history's greatest monsters:
