Since arriving on the scene behind the recruiting eight ball in late December 2014, Jim Harbaugh's staff has shown a willingness to push the angles with prospects.
Jim Harbaugh asked a recruit to prom and took his shirt off that one time in Alabama. His tight end coach/adult son wrote a letter to a recruit's girlfriend.
Now it appears they've moved onto cakes. Or rather, pictures of cakes. You see, buying a recruit a birthday cake would be a violation. But taking a picture of a cake and sending it to a recruit?
That's the Michigan difference.
Jordan Elliott, a 2016 four-star DT from Houston, is currently 62 percent crystal balled to the University of Texas. Michigan is at a fightin' 8 percent, but it's not going down without a fight:

That's Harbaugh and defensive coordinator D.J. Durkin showing an enthusiasm previously unknown to mankind during what appears to be an office party where every other coworker had "something come up."
As for the cake — it's supposed to be Texas (I think) — well, it looks like it was designed with the some kind of gusto. It looks like somebody deflated Pacman.
Desecration to Texas aside (haven't Texans started wars over lesser things?), the earned brownie cake points should be worth a shoutout in the Twitter post Elliott uses to commit elsewhere.
