Southern California fired its head coach, Steve Sarkisian, after a loss-laden season riddled with embarrassing alcohol-fueled brouhahas.
USC replaced Sarkisian with its interim coach, Clay Helton, but the former Pete Carroll protégé isn't going quietly into the night.
From our nation's site of record, tmz.com:
Steve Sarkisian has sued USC -- claiming they did him dirty by firing him as the head coach of the football team instead of getting him help for his alcoholism -- and he wants more than $30 MILLION ... TMZ Sports has learned.
TMZ Sports has obtained the suit ... in which Sarkisian reveals he came to grips with the fact he suffers from alcoholism in October 2015 ... after a widely reported meltdown on campus.
[...]
We spoke with Sark's attorney Alan Loewinsohn who tells us, "Alcoholism is a recognized disability under California law. So firing somebody because of that disability is against the law."
Lawsuit claims Sarkisan is owed at least $12.6M under his USC contract and marketing agreement. Sark's base salary in 2015 was $2.625M.

People will undoubtedly get out their law degrees from Twitter University for this one, but it'll be interesting to watch it unfold. As a cum laude graduate of Twitter U myself: Sarkisian may have a case.
