Football's comin'!
Fall camp is almost here. I can smell it, I can hear it, I can feel it in my bones. In just a few short days, Urban Meyer will begin the most important and interesting rebuilding project that he's had since arriving in Columbus. For us, that might be a source of trepidation, but honestly I think this is the most excited I've been for mandatory summer practices since junior year when my high school soccer coach told me there was a chance (a chance!) of being third string striker on varsity.
Beau and I talk position battles, new and old faces, units that we're most concerned about, and why J.T. Barrett is the salve that soothes all wounds. As per my general nature, I'm more nervous than most, but just chalk that up to me being dumb.
And hey, Adam Jacobi comes on too! We've been battling some technology issues this week, but Mr. Jacobi from Go Iowa Awesome (our new blogging bros) was cool enough to take time out of his schedule to chat with me about the immortal phoenix that is Kirk Ferentz and get into the nitty gritty that is the Big Ten West. It's... well, it's probably a little better than you think. Not that much better, but still. Better.
Oh, and we still want those Ask Us Anything questions! Hit us up on Twitter or via e-mail!
0:00- Fall camp, man. Two position battles in particular are of interest to are running back and the defensive backs, two areas with a lot of attrition over the past few years.
22:48- Quick hitters! We get into the AP giving Ohio State it's all time top ranking (okay), Michigan's Jordan coup (good for them), and Bret Bielema making his way back on the airwaves (YEEEEEEEEESSSS).
32:32- Whaddup Jacobi! Look, from an Ohio State perspective, and forgiveness of Kirk Ferentz is short-sighted at best. Our coach also happens to be Urban Meyer. We're never going to get it. Also: the revenge of Brad Banks.
And that is the Dubcast for this week. We'll be back next week to take a closer look at the Big Ten East, and probably to dissect each juicy syllable of information that we get from camp. See you there.
