For some reason people thought Charlie Strong could save his head coaching job with a season-ending double over Kansas and Texas Christian.
As it turns out, Strong proved incapable of that. Kansas handed the Longhorns their sixth loss of the season with a 24-21 overtime win in Lawrence.
Texas boosters were reportedly already keen on hiring Houston coach Tom Herman, so expect that Godfather offer to come through as soon as the regular season ends.
After the loss, Strong made me feel as bad as I've ever felt for a man about to be paid millions of dollars to stop working:
The most painful part of the Strong post game presser.
