Multiple reports say Lane Kiffin will leave Alabama to take over the Florida Atlantic Owls, who finished 3-9 in 2016.
If this seems like a curious choice, it had to happen before Nick Saban murdered his offense coordinator:
FAU is an interesting choice but a.) Lane wanted to be a head coach and b.) staying put for 2017 wasn't going to happen.

This also sets the stage for a potential future sitcom:
In-state recruiting b/w Jim McElwain, Jimbo Fisher, Mark Richt, Charlie Strong, Butch Davis, Scott Frost & Lane Kiffin will be epic

Like Kirby Smart before him, Kiffin is expected to stay on Alabama's staff through its playoff run.
Ohio State fans could see Kiffin in the flesh if he survives until 2019, when F.A.U opens its season in Columbus.
