Longtime Ohio State assistant coach Luke Fickell finally flew the coop this offseason. The Columbus native, however, didn't go far.
Fickell took I-71 South to Cincinnati, where he'll helm the Bearcats. UC finished 4-8 in 2016, so if Fickell follows Urban Meyer's blueprint, establishing a winning culture will be the first task at hand.
Fickell met with his team for the first time on Jan. 8. Here's an inside look, courtesy of Cincinnati Football.
Watching it makes it easy to see why Fickell relates with his players so well. He cares about them, and he only demands the best of them.
It may take a year or two for Fickell to get a roster that can play how he wants, but Cincinnati looks well on its way to becoming a respectable program once again.
