Ohio State's Urban Meyer is no longer college football's third-highest paid coach.
That distinction now goes to Clemson's Dabo Swinney, who was rewarded for winning last season's national championship when he received a new eight-year contract worth $54 million on Friday.
That's an average of $6.75 million per year. Meyer, by comparison, averages $6.5 million per year, having most recently signed a contract extension in April 2015.
Alabama's Nick Saban and Michigan's Jim Harbaugh are college football's two highest-paid coaches.
