Ohio State checks in at No. 2 in the first College Football Playoff rankings of 2024.
Confidence is a good thing to have when playing quarterback, and despite his struggles at Michigan, John O'Korn has plenty of it.
The now-former Wolverine worked out at Michigan's Pro Day on Friday and told reporters in attendance after his workout that he believes he is the most 'NFL-ready' signal caller in the 2018 draft.
From The Detroit News:
“Honestly, I think I’m the most NFL-ready quarterback in this draft just as far as terminology, and knowing what to do on a day-to-day basis, game-planning,” O’Korn said Friday. “I was part of the game-plan meetings with coach Harbaugh, coach (Pep) Hamilton, the whole staff, coach (Tim) Drevno, all last fall, so just on a day-to-day basis what it takes to be an NFL quarterback, I think I would choose myself over any other guy in this draft in that regard.”
O'Korn split time as a starter with fellow Michigan quarterbacks Wilton Speight and Brandon Peters in 2017 as all three dealt with a number of injuries throughout the year. In 10 games, O'Korn threw for 973 yards and two touchdowns to six interceptions.
Against Ohio State in the regular season finale, O'Korn completed 17-of-32 passes for 195 yards and a score, but also threw an ill-advised pass late in the game that was intercepted by Buckeye safety Jordan Fuller, ultimately sealing the OSU victory.
