When Ohio State hosts Penn State next week, it’s now unlikely to be a top-10 matchup after the Nittany Lions fell 20-18 in a 9-OT rock fight.
The nine overtimes set a new college football record as the teams traded 2-point conversions beginning in the third overtime due to the new college football rules in effect this season.
The teams combined for 14 consecutive failed two-point conversions before Illinois scored in both the eighth and ninth overtimes and stopped Penn State in the ninth to seal the victory.
