The NFL Scouting Combine has a new fastest man.
Former Texas wide receiver Xavier Worthy broke the record for the fastest 40-yard dash in combine history when he clocked an official 4.21-second 40 on Saturday.

Worthy broke the record previously set by former Washington wide receiver John Ross, who ran a 4.22-second 40-yard dash at the 2017 NFL Scouting Combine. The Cincinnati Bengals went on to select him with the No. 9 overall pick in the 2017 NFL draft.

Worthy, who originally committed to Michigan as a four-star recruit in the 2021 class before signing with Texas, was the Longhorns’ leading receiver for all three of his seasons at Texas, catching 197 passes for 2,755 yards and 26 touchdowns. He caught 75 passes for 1,014 yards and five touchdowns in 2023, when he helped lead Texas to its first-ever College Football Playoff berth.
