While it waits for its new permanent stadium to be built, Northwestern will play the majority of its home games for the next two seasons at a temporary stadium built at its practice facility, the school announced Wednesday.
The practice facility, which overlooks Lake Michigan, will also host home games for Northwestern’s soccer and lacrosse teams.
Per the university’s release, Northwestern is continuing discussions with other Chicago-area venues that could host some 2024 games. Considering Ohio State's fanbase is among the best-traveled in college football, the Buckeyes’ game against the Wildcats on Nov. 16 is a likely candidate to be played at a larger venue.
Wildcat Report, Rivals’ Northwestern site, reported in February that Wrigley Field is a likely venue for the OSU vs. Northwestern matchup.
Northwestern has not announced venues for any specific games, but told season ticket holders in an email on Wednesday that it plans to “host all non-conference games plus at least one conference game at the temporary facility.”
