I know one of you can solve this problem.
We have a large fire place that we don't want to mount a television onto, so instead we're mounting to the wall next to the fireplace, and have an wall mount that can turn and face the middle of the room.
The space on my wall is 59" across. My television is 55" (one day larger); the TV is 48" across. The center of the wall is 29.5" to middle.
The studs are 16" apart.
The Sanus TV Wall mount can be mounted between 16, 18, and 24 inches. This means that if I'm going to mount the television into studs on both ends, which I must do, there's no way to mount both ends into a stud and keep it centered at the 29.5" point.
I am sure there are wall mount extenders, but before I break into this wall I want to be sure I'm not making a mistake, or missing something obvious. I have probably mounted 10 Televisions before, but it never needed it to be perfectly centered like I do now.
