I've heard pundits and "experts" claim that UGA is a lock for the CFP even if they lose the SEC CG to Bama. I'm not convinced this is true. As it stands currently, UGA has played one team ranked in the AP, #25 Arkansas (not convinced Arkansas will be ranked by the CFP tomorrow either).
Think about that...UGA could end up with zero ranked wins on their resume if they don't beat Bama. Their record includes a win over an FCS team (Charleston Southern) and four true road games (and two of those are vs. Georgia Tech and Vanderbilt!). They somehow have the #1 ranked strength of record according to ESPN, but I don't see the funny math involved in that. I don't see one team on their schedule that is worthy of ranking right now, and right now is important because pre-season rankings and rankings when you play the games don't account for the entire body of work. I'm just scratching my head at how UGA has got a free pass this season and how, if they lose in the SEC CG, that their inclusion in the CFP is guaranteed.
